West Highland Walkies

Well pups and peoples I am very glad to tell you that my last two big days out were not to boring shops or sitting around when MyPeoples were eating very scrumptious foods AND NOT SHARING but for REALLY GOOD WALKIES. I was a very happy dog *super smiley face*,  I did not even mind about going in the car  first, I just had a little sleep. We were going to go on the train too but it got in front of us so we did the walkies first and then got the train back to where we had started from.

If you want to do this walkies I think Peoples have made lots of books about it;  I do not know if any dogs have written books which would be much better because why would I need to know where there is a toilet or cafe (because I am NOT ALLOWED) but would like to know where the  best sniffs are? Anyway it is called the West Highland Walkies and it goes from Glasgow where I was last time to Fort William which I think I have been to but never told you about because it was just walking on the street but there were some nice dogs if I recall?

So. Back to the West Highland Walkies, you can do this walkies for days and days (sounds good) but you might need to carry your own bed (not so sure about that). And you would have to be allowed to eat sausages and scrambly eggs and other scrumptious  stuff or your peoples would have to take all your kibble in their bags. Although I have heard rumours of dogs having to carry all their own things!!!!!!!

Anyway, because MyPeoples DO NOT ALLOW  me to eat scrumptious peoplesfood and did not want to carry all my kibble and my bed and are not as good at walkies as me, we are doing it in bits.
But I do not mind as long as we do the walkies.

The first bit was from Tyndrum to Crianlarich, it is usually the other way around but I have already told you about missing the train. It was a very nice walk with lots of places where I could go off my lead and check out the sniffs and stories. The main places for being on your lead are where the walks goes through a farm and there are sheeps and where it crosses a very busy road and you have to all be very careful.

After crossing the road the path gets quite steep and MyPeoples was finding it quite hard because she has very short (fat) legs. I have short legs too but I have four of them so it was not a problem for me and in any case I am superb at walkies.

this is a view, peoples like views

"C'mon peoples"

When we got to the Crianlarich place we had quite a long time before the train so we went to the hotel and all had a drink and MyPeoples had scones which I'm sure are quite delicious if you are allowed but I just had my kibble.

The next bit of walkies was on a very sunny day and we drove to somewhere called the Bridge of Orchy. This time we were a bit early for the train so we went to the hotel and had a drink. MyPeoples thought that it looked very nice and that we might go back if we did the walkies again and maybe both of them together?

We got the train to the Tyndrum place where we had been before and then turned around and did the walks back to where we had been. This obviously makes sense if you are a peoples but tbh as long as there is walkies I do not really care.

We stopped on the way and we all had a picnic because I had not wanted my breakfast before we went in the car. Some nasty peoples had left bits of their picnics under the rocks which I think is pretty horrible and peoples have the cheek to complain about dogs being dirty. Pfft!

Walkies is thirsty work

I did not leave a scrap

which is more than you can say for these peoples and we took my poo home with us
Apart from two bits were there were sheeps I  could go off my lead and enjoy all  the sniffs. There were no bits of busy roads to cross but there were some climby gate things. Mostly I could squeeze through but once I did not fancy it and MyPeoples had to help me get over the top. I can walk over the sheeps pipes now too. Did I tell you I was very clever?

We walked back to the train place where we had left the car and went home for tea. I'm looking forward to doing some more of these walkies soon.

Hoovering up the crumbs

Well hellooooo pups and peeps, I have been on a little holiday. I stayed at a very nice peoples place (this is a bit about the place) in Glasgow. They are VERY nice to dogs and liked me very, very much *of course*. A lovely man called Johnny was soooooooo pleased to see me everytime I came home.

They give you a bed and some bowls but I am a seasoned traveller and I like to have my own things so I put my furry blanket on their bed. It was nice and comfy.

getting comfy

I was just getting all settled in when there was a knock at the door, I though it would be one of the nice hotel people , maybe bringing sausages *a dog is always hopeful even though I AM MOSTLY NOT  ALLOWED* but then I had a sniff, and

IT WAS MY YOUNGPEOPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(He had his *other girl* with him but I am getting used to her as long as she knows her place)

MyYoungPeoples being very happy because he is coming to see me

So that was making a nice place even better. I love MyYoungPeoples but I don't get to see him so much now that I lives beside my sea.  I am hoping he might come and stay with me when MyPeoples go on aeroplanes. (He can even bring the girl)

Anyway after a little bit (MyPeoples got some new toys to play with but she didn't chew them so what is the point?) we all went outside and the very nice man found a car for us to have a ride in.

We went to a quite noisy place and there was MyAunty! This was turning into a VERY good day. She always promises me sausages and scrambly eggs on the little birdie 'puter place. She had a nice big doggie bag, *hopeful face*  it said so in letters DIOR  (I am a dog and my spelling is not very good but I think that says dog)  so I was very hopeful *more hopeful face*. It looked big enough for lots of sausages.........

But do you know what? She fibbed!!!!! There was no sausages or scrambly eggs! She was going to be demoted from best favourite Aunty. But...................for  a very smart peoples she is quite a sloppy eater and some nice crumbs came my way on the floor. *licks mouth*. I thinks that maybe she was doing it on purpose when MyPeoples was not looking.

And she did give me a burger and a bone. But they were made of plastic so not very tasty but very good for chewing.

This is me testing out the bone

The next day after MyPeoples had scrambly eggs for breakfast and DID NOT SHARE we met my Aunty and Uncle Peoples again and did a walkies in a garden place which was quite good but I had to stay on my lead but after that we went to a beach which was lovely and loads of stones and sniffs but no splashes *sad face* on account of sleeping in the hotel place.  All the peoples had ice cream and

I WAS NOT ALLOWED!!!!!!!

The scrambly eggs I DID NOT GET and they would easy fit in that DIOR bag

The next day we did a walkies around the shops which is mostly boring except when lovely people come up to say "Hello" and "Lovely Dog" and this time I met some lovely peoples from Danish land who said BTs were the best type of dogs *of course*.

And I have been thinking that if I got a job I could stay in the hotel place and order my own scrambly eggs.

So what do you think?

Ahoy me hearties!

I have been having all sorts of adventures.

Last week I went on a boat trip. The boat lived quite far from my house so we went in the car first and I had a little sleep. I was then nice and refreshed for the splashy walk to the boat and looking forward to the sea breeze in my face.

What a disappointment! Usually we are on the outside where you can sniff the sea but this boat didn't have any outside. It was just like a bus and I had to sit down on the floor by the feet! I was not impressed. There was nothing to see  and no nice sniffs. Feet! Pfft! My poor sensitive nose. And then it got really bouncy, worse than MyPeoples driving the car and I did not like it at all. Luckily MyPeoples knew I was not happy and picked me up so I could see out and I felt much better. (It was also nice being cuddled because it was just a tiny bit scary). The sea was much bigger and up around the side of the boat than I had ever seen before.

It wasn't long before we got to the place we were going which is called Jura. I have been there before and it has very good beaches; it has more deer than peoples and is famous for a book, a burning and this:

I let the knitting me try it because I do not think I would like whisky

MyPeoples granny came from Jura and the last time we were there we found the house she used to live in but it didn't look very comfy for peoples now.

this is not the house in the story

this is not the boat in the story

We had a cup of tea with a very nice lady who lives there (Jura, not the not-comfy house). I met some nice Diurach* dogs, played on the beach and had a swim. On our way back in the boat it was much less bouncy.

this is looking out of the boat with non bouncy sea on the way home

When we got home that night we went to the pub http://tigh-an-truish.co.uk and there were biscuits and I WAS ALLOWED *happy face*.

After that we were very busy with peoples staying and I was banished and tortured by lovely sniffs and none for me. Sometimes the peoples  said "Oh where is B........?" and asked to meet me and said "lovely dog"and other nice things *of course*; but I noticed they did not save me any sausage.

One set of peoples brought their dog which was lovely and I was on very best behaviour and polite and she was very nice dog too. We had a little play which was fun and I told her some good places for  walkies so that the could enjoy the sea.

I think that is all for now, except we found a new beach yesterday.

Form an orderly queue now.......

Helloooooooo pups and peeps so much has happened since I last wrote. For one thing I  found out that  lots of the lovely walkies I've been telling you about have been wrote down already by peoples in a book so if you want to go on them but your peoples (or you if you are a peoples) are afraid of dropping your  'puter in the mud then you can take the book instead. But I will have to warn you that the book does not have lovely pictures of me in it so you will just have to look at the scenery instead. But try not be too sad because it is nice scenery though obvs not nearly so nice as me.  Next time we do a new one I will tell you all about it.

this is the book with the walkies

We haven't done any new explores for a bit though but I did go to Wales to see my Aunty.  She is a PeoplesAunty not a fur but she is very nice. Wales is quite a long way if you start from my house, too far for walkies so you have to go by car. This is quite dull so I usually have a little sleep until some sniffs or walkies come along.  On the way we stopped at a  place with very good sniffs http://thebearspaw.co.uk . I tried not to eat my dinner so I would have room for some of the nice things to eat BUT I WAS NOT ALLOWED. I had to lie there and sniff all the lovely peoples food and not eat it *poor much maligned dog face*  The peoples who brought the food all were very kind and said I was lovely (of course) and gave me ear scritches and there is one lady peoples who has lots of  BTs living with her so how lucky is she? The rooms are very comfortable and have all the things like baths and showers that peoples like but I am a dog so I don't really care but they have walkies written down for you to do which I do like, but we weren't there for long enough *sad face* so we just walked up the path and said "hello" to the cows who came to see me, but they were on the other side of the fence so I was quite safe  in case you are worried.

After that it was into the car for another sleep and then I was at MyAunty's. There is one very bad thing about being MyAunty's house. RACHELCAT. She is a very tiny cat but very, very fierce. She does not like me AT ALL. I used to try to be friendly and give her tail wags and I thought she wanted to play because she wagged hers too and then she was all needles and spits SO THAT WAS NOT A NICE WAY TO PLAY.  But apart from Rachelcat it is lovely;  there is a big garden with lots of good sniffs and runnings and the peoples have a food bowl there too and MyAunty GAVE ME A SAUSAGE. *happy happy face* .

nice peoples foods

"quick MyPeoples isn't looking"

how could she resist?

Wales has lovely beaches but your peoples have to check because not all of them like dogs; silly, silly beaches. MyPeoples are clever and knew one where I could go and run and check out the sniffs.
http://www.thebeachguide.co.uk/south-wales/glamorgan/dogs-allowed I met lots of nice Welsh dogs including a Welsh BT but we only had a sniff because he was with his granny peoples and she doesn't let him run off lead. After all that running and sea air we were all ready for a snack so  went off to find a pub, and found one which  welcomed me AND gave me biscuits, which I was allowed *happy face and tummy* http://www.watermillogmore.com/gallery

licking the Welsh air

lunch for us all

Our next stop was by the seaside in Conwy. I got biscuits there too, from the Castle Hotel http://www.castlewales.co.uk they made the room really comfy for me too but I always travel with my  own bed. In the morning we sat outside but only MyPeoples got any sausages.

Conwy castle, not the hotel one where we stayed which had a roof and was much comfier

Next I went to stay with my other Aunty in Peebles. She loves me very much too (of course) and is lovely and I got many many cuddles, but no sausages *slightly sad face*

Then it was time to go home and My Peoples were very busy with cleaning and other peoples stuff and this appeared!

what's this?

MyPeoples are inviting other peoples to stay in our house. AND THEY ARE COOKING THEM SAUSAGES. And you can guess that I AM NOT ALLOWED. And even worse sometime they will be bringing their pups and if I find out they have been getting sausages I will be VERY CROSS indeed. *very best cross face*.

does this work as *cross face*?

But none of that matters because my loveliness has now been officially recognised. I won first prize in my class at the Lorn Agricultural show. Mind you my prizes weren't much fun - a ribbony thing and some paper, none of them were tasty, sniffy or chasy so what really  is the  point? But afterwards we went to the beach which was GOOOOOOOOD!

don't worry I didn't wear it for long

now this is much better and sunny

*coughs modestly* you can keep it there if you want

And don't worry pups and peeps I will not let it go to my head (much) and will still talk to you.

Explores and snores

Hello

We haven't had such sunny weather but I've still managed some good walkies.

The first one was last week. It didn't start out so well because I had to go in the car. I don't mind going in the car but it's not as good as walkies, the sniffs are not great and there's not much to see. So I usually have a little nap and dream of a good run.  Anyway we had to go in the car because one of MyPeoples had another of those not chewy-up paper meetings.

We had quite a big drive but not as big as the one when we used to live somewhere else as well. MyPeoples went off to his meeting and the other MyPeoples took me for walkies. She wanted to go to the big stone house but guess what? Yes. I WAS NOT ALLOWED.

before I WAS NOT ALLOWED

But a very nice peoples who lived there said "Hello" and that I was lovely, *of course*, and had a talk with me while MyPeoples visited the toilets. Then we met a very handsome tourist dog who said "Hello" and we did sniffs and his peoples told us about a good walkies; which in my opinion (the best one) was much better than visiting the big house.

me outside the big house meeting a nice peoples

The walkies started at the top of the car park and was a lovely path right around the hill that the big house is on. For peoples there were bits of wood with stories to tell them about the hill. But I am a dog so I didn't need them. I had my nose and found out all about it from the sniffs.  And I can tell you that there are MANY BUNNIES. I was on my lead because it was a new place so they were able to be QUITE BOLD. In fact one of them SAT RIGHT ON THE PATH IN FRONT OF ME! Pfft!
this is the big house with a walkies around

After the walkies we sat outside Old Town Coffee House and had drinks, I think MyPeoples had something to eat as well, that is why she does not have a trim figure like me.  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Old-town-coffee-house/124600114283578?sk=photos_stream
And of course the peoples there thought that I was lovely and BTs are her favourite dogs. *attempts modest face*

And then it was time to go and meet MyPeoples from his meeting and drive home. So I had a sleep.

And that's what I'm going to do now.

zzzzzz

PS.  if you are a peoples you might like go in the big house  http://www.stirlingcastle.gov.uk

Phew, I need a lie down

I have had a busy, busy week. I think it is because it is sunny. Peoples seem to like walkies more when it is sunny. Peoples are strange, I like walkies in any weathers, well almost, I don't like pavement walkies in the rain very much, but here by my sea, wet walkies are great, lots of sniffs and splashes.

Anyway back to my busy week....
On Monday one of MyPeoples had to go to a meeting about archives which is where peoples keep bit of papers that they don't want you to chew up, so my morning walk was just with one of MyPs. At first I was a bit concerned because she didn't do the proper all the way round walkies and there was not even any peoples doing a trophy with balls and sticks. But after we did the round the road bit and up past the dead peoples place bit we didn't go back to the shop where the car is. We turned the other way!
And so we went to the church, but we didn't go in where I'm not allowed, we went around the side where there was a gate, which we went through, then up to this gate. And through it....

gate, there is another one like this round the side of the church

And then we were up on the hill, with me walking nicely on my lead, but leading, because I ALWAYS know the way even when it's a new walkies. It was quite muddy but MyP didn't mind and I never do.

muddy path

Well almost always, even I got a bit worried at this bit and so we scrambled through some trees taking care not to hurt them. MyPeople got a bit scratched tho' *concerned face*,  but she was ok so that was good.

the very deep mud with the trees we scrambled through just to the side

We met this sheeps pup and I think he liked me a lot but I am a very good dog and so I ignored him. He will just have to learn not to bother dogs.

We had to walk through his field, and MyPeoples is always good and remembers to shut the gates, and I did not look at the sheeps and then we got onto the path to the SEA. And I had a go on the beach.

And then we met MyPeoples who had finished his meeting about bits of paper and he was very pleased to see me and sad he'd missed the walkies.

The next day we got up early and went off in the car which is not exciting because I can't see out. But then we got on a boat which was very good.

we are on this boat looking back at the boat station

we are now looking at the boat where we are not anymore

We sailed to another place called the "Big Garden"* which was very good and had great sniffs and and streams and sea but I was not allowed in *sadface*, they said it was too fast but I am very fast too.

I don't think the sea is too fast

There were lots of other dogs, a BT guarding the path, I was polite; and two VERY BIG dogs who barked but were very nice when they met me properly.

We saw these sheeps who lived in a house.

MyPeoples had lunch outside and then went to look at the stories and we did some more walkies. And guess what? More sheeps pups who wanted to say "hello" . MyPeoples were all excited because they got to stroke them. But really??? I let them stroke me all the time and I have much nicer fur.

the sheeps pups

On the walkies we also met A LOVELY ladyPeoples, who stopped her car specially to say "hello" to me and say I am LOVELY (of course) *blushes with false modesty* and it turns out she is the Peoples of the guard BT so I was very glad I had been polite.

And then it was time to go back on the boat and home for tea.

The next day was quieter because we went to see MyPeoples aunty in Greenock, but she is a nice peoples and loves me very much and furthermore has a very good garden for running in. The only bad thing was that MyPeoples went for a swim in a small sea which looked very nice but I WAS NOT ALLOWED and had to stay and look after My(other)Peoples.

Then yesterday. We went on another boat. Not a big one but there were some cars too. To an island next to our one**. With lots of stones.  We had a lovely walkies and I was very helpful at finding the path and helping MyPeoples climb over cliffs because it is hard when you only have two legs. Even sheeps can manage better than peoples

some cliffs where I was helpful

a sheeps

MyPeoples had lunch that they had brought in a box but I had to look for my own food.

looking for lunch

We got home again in time for tea and a nice rest.

Mmmm, sun puddle.

Helping MyPeoples explore

Well it wasn't raining today but that wasn't all good, because when we went for my usual morning walkies there were lots of people doing a trophy which was a game with a ball and sticks. I am very good at games with balls and sticks but guess what? Yes. I WAS NOT ALLOWED. And what's more I had to stay on my lead because they thought I would join in and then the peoples would look bad because I would win. We didn't do the usual way either we went on the road and saw a sheeps with some very strange pups.

sheeps with very strange pups

But it wasn't all bad because it stayed sunny and so we did extra walks this afternoon. It was a bit of one we do a lot, down to the "otter place" but when we got to the beach we turned a different way  and went more along the beach. Lovely stones and sniffs but the peoples said "Ew stinky" because peoples are strange about sniffs.  Then we climbed over the wall, this was very easy for me but a bit harder for MyPeoples, and we went up through the trees.

even peoples could follow this path

showing the way to go

I had been there once before with one of MyPeople but he wasn't sure of the way so I had to help.

this is my helpful face

We went almost to the end of the island. There  were lots of sniffs of deer and bunnies but I was very good and stayed close to show them the best way to go. One of MyPeoples kept stopping to take photos of broken walls and flowers and stuff like that.
I don't know why

And we found where a bird pup had come out of the nest too soon so that was a bit sad.

oh dear this would have been a bird pup

At one bit we could see the top of our house and then we were nearly home. MyPeoples had to climb over but I don't like those things and I am a dog so I could go the better way- underneath.

I can go under

When you get here
and this one

you are nearly at that end of the walk and so  we went home and I had a check of my sea which was quite small and came inside for tea.

I'm hoping we go to the pub for a biscuit later, paws crossed. I'll let you know. Licks'n'wags.

MissB
